This week, I want to talk about something so many of us are navigating: menopause. It’s not always graceful, and it’s definitely not always easy, but it is a season of change that touches everything: our bodies, our moods, and even our closets.
And if you’ve ever seen me in the store with a jacket on one minute and off the next, don’t worry - it’s not a new style trick; it's just me managing hot flashes like the rest of us!
Menopause isn’t something I ever looked forward to. But I’ve learned that resisting change only makes it harder. Instead, I’m choosing to meet this season with acceptance, humour, and even some optimism.
Menopause isn’t the end of something — it’s a transformation. A shift that comes with new challenges (hello, hot flashes) but also new wisdom. It’s also a reminder that our bodies are speaking to us, and our style can and should listen.
For me, that’s meant learning to dress differently. I never really struggled with my weight until menopause, and suddenly, I had to relearn how to dress myself again. The truth is, our bodies change, and our wardrobes need to adapt along with them.
Here are three ways I’m doing that right now.
Layers that work with you
Fall already calls for layering, but it becomes essential when you’re navigating hot flashes and fluctuating body temps. My formula? A lightweight and breathable blouse, and a jacket or scarf to finish. This way, I can peel pieces away or bundle back up depending on what my body decides to do next.
Whether it's a jacket, or scarf a light layer that I can easily peel off is my go-to for busy days. Find some of my favourites here.

Fabrics are Everything
Not all fabrics are created equal. Natural fibres are your best friends because they breathe with you. Check out my breakdown of favourite fabrics to navigate anything.
These fibres don’t just keep you comfortable; they give you that quiet confidence that you’re prepared, no matter how your body shifts.

Invest in your Basics (and get the right ones)
On the days your body doesn’t feel like itself, the proper foundation can do wonders. Well-fitted essentials — whether that’s the perfect pair of jeans, a supportive underpinning, or the blazer that makes you feel instantly polished — help you step into the day with confidence. Sometimes, “fake it until you make it” really works.

They say style is about finding the perfect fit — and with menopause, sometimes that just means embracing the hot flashes and laughing as we manage them our own way.
Every seasonal change is a new beginning — a rebrand, if you will. Menopause is no different. It asks us to listen to our bodies, to dress for who we are now, and to be open to the possibility that change can actually bring strength, self-knowledge, and yes, even joy.
Your body is speaking to you. Let your style listen.
