Editor's Pick's features our favourite items for Spring 2023, including designers from locally & Canadian made to internationally renowned luxury fashion houses. This collection is hand selected by our stylists to feature the top trends of the season, and creatively designed to make you look your best. Editor's Picks is where you can shop new key pieces to invest in now and wear all season long.
Here are some of the trends we are focused on this season:
Sartori-all: Spring 2023 is back to business. Think classic tailoring with a focus on statement details, as well as playing with new proportions; think oversized suiting pants and super cropped blazer, or the reverse; as a way to stay on trend and stand out this season. Fluid Officewear: As we navigate our new-world office wear dress code, go for functional and versatile as you shop this season, we'll help you find the perfect day to night blazer, or comfortable but office-chic outfit.
New Classics: This is all about timeless styling. This season, take your classic styles and add some exaggerated detail, a balloon sleeve top, a strong shoulder jacket or any bold colour in your favourite silhouette.
Bleisure to Pleasure: Forget the sharp lines that divided work, leisure and pleasure that used to exist. Blend your wardrobe to find a new mix of styles that work together whether it is for casual, business or party dressing. Try a bold jacket with a satin blouse instead of your classic blouse and tailored blazer.
Future Classics: Your renewed classics are back, but this time they are versatile. Try a tailored pant with a drawstring closure, or a belted versatile trench coat that pairs well with every outfit. Look for styles with adjustable straps, drawstrings and wrap waistlines so you can control the fit of any look.
We asked our styling team what their favourite themes are this season, here's what they have to say:
Escapsim: We have been inside for too long, so if you're leaving the house, dress bold in looks that standout and put a smile on your face. Find a sundress in a tropical print and wear it everywhere, a bright tailored suit (go bold or go home), and exaggerated fits such as the wide leg crop pant, a halter top, or a layered skirt.
Sparkle All Day: Who says we can only wear satins, metallics, and sequins at night? Try sequins in pastels, metallics with a bold print, or satins in your classic spring colours and wear them all day everyday. Casual sparkly looks are the way to go this season.
Wide is Best: We said it once, and we'll say it again. Our pant widths just keep growing, and we love it. While we always hold a special place in our heart for a cigarette leg, this season Palazzo is the way to go. Wide leg pants are best.
Subversive Sexy: We suggest this style for any occasion, a monochromatic all blacks palette with lingerie details is the perfect approach. Want other styles that are subtly sexy? Try styles with strappy details, a mesh look, or unconventional cutouts that hit in all the right places.
Good things happen in 3s: The return of classic tailoring means a new trend is on the rise. The classic 3 piece suit is back, but this time it is designed to be versatile, you can wear this look as a set, the vest with a pair of wide leg trousers, or the jacket with a pair of jeans; no matter which way you wear it, you are guaranteed a sleek look.
Raise the Neckline & Wear Everywhere: The halter neck is all the rage this season, we are seeing new ways to incorporate this neckline into business, leisure and travel dressing. It is the perfect day to night look; pair it with a blazer for the ultimate office look, and wear it with your trousers into the evening.
Hyper-Functional Classics: Your wardrobe essentials will receive an update this season, we are prioritizing design details that are multi-functional; we've heard it before, "Classics with a Twist", but now they have a purpose. Try styles with ruching that allows you to adjust how the style fits, or pants with a drawstring to change where they sit on your waist.
